Immigration Court Presence, Concord

Volunteers gather in front of the Concord Federal Immigration Court to serve as a welcoming, non-disruptive presence to deter ICE, protect immigrants, and support rapid response if needed. Volunteers carry signs, observe, document, film, and report ICE activity.

Court Watch Volunteers

California Collaborative for Immigrant Justice (CCIJ)

Court watch volunteers attend immigration court hearings to monitor and document proceedings and ICE activity. Your presence helps hold the system accountable and supports immigrant rights.

Opportunities for Bilingual Volunteers

Asylum Application Volunteer (Bilingual)

Contra Costa Immigrant Rights Alliance 

Support asylum seekers by helping them complete Form I-589, which is only available in English. Volunteers must be fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English. Volunteers typically meet twice with their assigned applicant (in person or remotely) and prepare the completed application in English for court submission.

How to Get Involved:

Step 1: Review the I-589 Volunteer Toolkit (training videos, slides, and coordination process)
