LCC Spring Cleaning and Work Day

Drop-In help welcome - or stay the whole time!


Tasks and Ideal # of people (a lot of possible tasks here, we’ll do what we can)  if possible, contact Steve to sign up, 925-408-3175

EXTERIOR JOBS
Roof and Edge flashing Clearing, both Sanctuary and Marion Hall, 1-2 people comfortable climbing a ladder and on a roof, should be done first thing (Flying debris), leaf blower and flat shovel provided, or bring your own.

​

Utility/AC well clean out on Marion Hall roof, 1 person comfortable with climbing ladder inside Marion Hall closet, need broom, dust pan, bucket.

​

Steeple drain clean-out, I person comfortable with climbing ladder to Sanctuary roof and knows what to do or can learn what to do inside steeple 

​

Marion Hall exterior lowering dirt level, at Northwest area inside courtyard (a little) and at Southwest corner (a lot) 1- 3 persons.  There will be a wheel barrel and yard tools on site, and/or bring your own rake, shovel, and pick

​

Fix Gate (reverse spring) to courtyard at office door.  1 person with some handyman skills, tools: drill and bits, wrenches, screwdriver, etc.

​

Clean off front of Sanctuary, cobwebs, dust etc.  2 people, need long cobweb duster, then hose off front and area, wash ext. windows.  Church has hoses and nozzle, we will have some window washing tools to use, or bring your own.


Touch up paint at Marion Hall, NW corner siding where downspout was, 1 person, need paintbrush and maybe a coffee can sized can, (there is the green paint in the shed and maybe paint brushes 

​

Front sign, dust, cleanup, and Polish letters, 1-2 persons, need duster, brass polish, rags

​

Front area West of driveway, remove 2 metal posts, 1 person

​

Mouse proof??  Check around both buildings and look for possible mouse entry “holes”, and if found, cover somehow. 2-3 persons,  Will require some agility, possible crawling around along the bottom of the exterior, knee pads a must

​

Shed opposite our tool shed, install a barrel bolt at base of door to prevent rodents from entering. (same thing as we already have on our shed) 1 person, with handyman skills and basic tools.  Barrel bolt will be provided.

​

Deep soak Redwoods and Pistache in Courtyard, leave water running for entire morning, 1 person, need hose sprinkler

​

Trees/Plants pruning and trimming along parking lot and elsewhere as needed, 2-3 persons.  Bring pruning and trimming tools.

​

Plant planting at front sign area.  2-4+ persons.  This will require digging holes in not so soft soil, best to use digging bar, posthole digger, shovel, pick. Plants and soil amendments provided assuming interest in this task.

​

INTERIOR JOBS

Sanctuary, dust pew chair shelves/books, and more, and get cobwebs  2-4 persons, need dusters.

 

Sanctuary Women’s restroom, pour 1 -2 gallons water with bleach down floor drain, 1 person

 

Sanctuary kitchen,  Basic cleanup, check for possible mouse entry areas. 1-2 persons.

 

Marion Hall kitchen, scrub down bottom and all sides of fridge, clean-out and organize the right side (LCC section) of refrigerator, 1-2 persons

​

Marion Hall kitchen, clean-out, clean, organize pots and pans shelves, etc, 1-3 persons

​

Marion Hall, replace 2 very high light bulbs, 1 person extremely comfortable on tall ladder, and best with 1 helper

​

Again, it will be helpful to let Steve know if you are coming and what task(s) you would like to do.
